Terms & Conditions

We hope our pricing is clear and easy to understand.

Direct Cremation and the Forget-Me-Not service include the cremation fees. Other packages need those fees to be added on and those fees vary depending on what crematorium you choose or which cemetery the burial is planned for. Even what time your service takes place could alter this fee. Nottinghamshire Funeral Service does not control or influence crematorium or burial fees.

We need full payment, up front, for Direct and Forget-Me-Not services. All others, we need a 50% deposit of the total cost and if you have third party additions, like a horse and carriage - those will need to be paid in full before the day of service.

We will issue an invoice for all services, with Lilac, Rose, Orchid and Bespoke being sent after the service. We request that payment for all outstanding balances be paid within fourteen (14) days of the invoice date. We usually issue our invoices a minimum of seven days after the service.

At the time of your funeral arrangement, you will be given an estimate (which may change if you add things on or take them off); a copy of our price list and a copy of the crematorium fees. Your deposit should be recorded on your estimate. Check with the Funeral Arranger if not. The estimate explains your legal right to cancel the agreement. You should receive a card payment receipt if you have paid that way, a hand-written receipt if you are making a bank transfer or cheque deposit.

If you are buying jewellery, urns or scatter tubes, or other items separate to a service, please make sure you receive a receipt.

Cheques cost us money - and whilst we are happy to accept them, the funds must be fully cleared before the service can take place. Again, this helps us keep our costs low.

Please note if you change the day/date/time of your service after it has been booked, there will be a fee and this varies depending on where your service is being held.

We reserve the right to apply interest; court fees and costs if any outstanding balance is not paid in a timely manner. We are a small company and cannot keep our costs down if we are owed money for services provided. Talk to us if you are having problems, but we are unable to offer any payment or installment plans due to the constraints of the Financial Services Authority.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to raise them with the staff member you are dealing with. Or you can raise issues directly with Tj, our Managing Director if you prefer. If you don’t feel your concerns have been addressed, we have a formal complaints policy that you can download below.
